In literally every health status indicator
group, African American males have the highest rates of morbidity and mortality
of any population sub-set in our society. Whether the issue is cardio-vascular
disease, cancer, diabetes or morbidity associated violence, African-American
men are at the top of the "BAD" lists for health-status. The vehicle
for developing focus on African-American health or African-American health
issues is the annual "Brothers" Health Issues Conference. These
conferences focus on health issues that are pervasive in African-American
men and their communities!
